Railings
A centre point in a railing in one of the alcoves on the south side of Alexandra Palace. Behind are the orange street lights reflected in the wet paving flags.

Wet Pavements
Taken at Alexandra Palace in North London, late last night. It was raining very heavily, so Stuart and I hid in the alcoves along the south side of the building.
This has been severely "channel mixered", with the blue channel set to 150%, the green to 70% and the red to zero. Because the lighting had a very heavy red element to it, this made everything much more stark and contrasty. I rather like it, in a guilty sort of way.

Brolly
Another AP Student Day picture. I took this one because I thought that the bright colours of the umbrella contrasted interestingly with the dull rainy weather.
I'm so used to digital remembering things for me that I actually can't remember what lens I took this with, but I suspect it was a Canon EF 28-135mm IS USM. As before, the film was Fuji RDP slide film, pushed from ISO 100 to ISO 400 and scanned on a Nikon Coolscan IV filmscanner.

Millennium Rain
Rain on London's Millennium Bridge in August.
I took this at a student day for the Amateur Photographer diploma that I am attempting to do.
It was taken on Fuji RDP slide film, pushed from ISO 100 to ISO 400 and scanned on a Nikon Coolscan IV filmscanner. The depth of field of the Sigma 15-30mm lens at 15mm is so great that the raindrops on the lens are almost in focus.

Saltaire
Rooftops in the town of Saltaire in West Yorkshire.
I love the golden Yorkshire stone that everything old around there is built from, and the way that built up areas suddenly give way to countryside.

Cat in the grass
I normally regard photographs of domestic pets as a big no-no, and have never web-published one before. I hope that the reason I like this image is due to its merits, rather than because of my attachment to this particular cat.
Another bit of rarity value about this shot is that I used my Canon EF 75-300mm IS lens (set at 255mm) for it. I'm not a big telephoto freak, and so this lens gets few outings, and even fewer of the shots I take with it ever get shown.

Lunar roads
They say that Lanzarote's volcanic landscape looks like the moon. Well, I don't think the sky is this blue up there, but there does seem to be a certain resemblance.

The Garages
This was shot at the 15mm end of a 15-30mm lens. It looks rather more grandiose than it actually is - in reality it is the entrance to some garages.
Taken on Ilford FP4 b&w film, and scanned using a Nikon Coolscan IV ED.
